So this something DIFFERENT and unexpected if you have been following me for awhile - you know I am a painter and so this is really a shock for some. Well, this summer I decided that I would take a jewelry class for fun and to challenge myself to think in 3D terms.

This was my FIRST time ever doing a Jewelry class and this piece is my capstone that marks how far I've come in a short time in the class. My professor told me that this is NOT normal for first time students but I really wanted to push myself beyond the normal limits. I still have some copper plating to do but I really enjoyed making this - from sawing, to annealing, to forming and then soldering!

Inspired by nature, I wanted to create a piece in my first jewelry class that would be memorable, over the top, and would bring the beauty of the female form and nature together. Yet, this piece was designed and created more as a piece of art, not so much as something some one would wear to dinner at Applebees or whatever but it is up to the wearer.
